Finally, Swedes Can Now Pay with Vipps!
We've eagerly awaited this moment! We're thrilled to welcome Swedes to the orange team. Now, Swedes can pay with Vipps in online stores and various locations in Norway that accept Vipps. Additionally, they can send money to each other via peer-to-peer payments and settle transactions with individuals in Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark.

But... how will the Swedes pay? Exactly the same way Norwegians pay with Vipps! Swedes will see the amount they need to pay in NOK in their Vipps app. Very, very simple! 🧡

Klarna in Vipps Checkout
We’re committed to simplifying payments for businesses. As part of this effort, we are excited to introduce Klarna as an external payment option in Vipps Checkout! Klarna is already available in our WooCommerce plugin, with more integrations coming soon. If you're looking to develop custom integrations, the documentation is available for you. Recurring payments can be started from Checkout
Recurring payments is finally a feature in Vipps MobilePay Checkout! You can now effortlessly start your recurring payments directly through our checkout. The feature is already a part of our plugin universe and is available through our WooCommerce recurring plugin.
We’re introducing a new functionality to our Recurring Payments service: Manage Agreement. This feature gives users greater control over their recurring subscriptions and payments. Now, you can pause, stop, or adjust your agreements directly within the app, with smart notifications to guide you along the way. Merchants benefit too, with automated processes to handle reservation changes and notifications. More details and links to documentation in our Technical Newsletter

Are you still using MobilePay Facade APIs?
On March 12, 2024, we launched a unified platform that now serves over 11 million users and more than 400,000 merchants across the Nordics. This platform is locally branded as MobilePay in Denmark and Finland, and as Vipps in Norway.
Are you currently utilizing the MobilePay Facade APIs for your payment integration? The MobilePay Facade APIs are available at Subscriptions API and App Payments API. Please note that the facade will be disabled in 2025, so it is crucial to migrate to the new Vipps MobilePay API platform as soon as possible. Start your migration now to ensure we have ample time to assist you before the facade reaches its end of life. Get started by familiarizing yourself with the Migration Guides.
New features!
We’re excited to announce the launch of Wishlist, a new feature in Vipps and MobilePay that makes organizing and sharing gift lists simple. Available from November 5th. Wishlist allows users to create lists, and share them with family and friends. Available in Norway, Denmark, and Finland, just in time for the holiday season! Expect a broader announcement closer to launch.
This autumn, we're introducing a new feature: "Recurring Donations" through our VM-number solution. This practical and user-friendly feature allows users to set up regular donation agreements directly within the Vipps app, offering an easy and efficient way to support their favorite causes. This is particularly advantageous for smaller organizations that might not need a comprehensive CRM solution. Those who do, we will of course continue to encourage using our existing Recurring API through our awesome partners. Stay tuned for more updates!
